The AJ718A is a short-wave Fibre Channel SFP+ optical transceiver — i.e. a plug-in optical module for fibre-optic networking. It uses a duplex LC connector for multimode fibre (MMF). It’s designed for storage/network equipment (switches, SANs, server HBAs) supporting 8 Gbps Fibre Channel (and backwards-compatible with 2G/4G).
