It enables 10 Gbps Ethernet links over multimode fiber (MMF) and is compliant with the industry standard IEEE 802.3ae 10GBase-SR optical networking specification.

- Form Factor: Hot-pluggable SFP+ module, compatible with SFP+ ports on switches, routers, and network cards.
- Data Rate: Up to 10 Gbps for high-speed network links.
- Wavelength: 850 nm VCSEL transmit laser for short-reach fiber transmission. Connector: LC duplex optical connector.
- Link Distance: Up to ~984 ft (300 m) over OM3 MMF and further on OM4 MMF. Standards: Fully compliant with IEEE 802.3ae and SFP+ multi-source agreements (MSA).
