The 44GNF is a 12Gb/s SAS hardware RAID controller designed for Dell PowerEdge enterprise servers. It is built on the LSI SAS3108 RAID-on-chip architecture and provides high-performance storage management for both HDDs and SSDs. It supports up to 8 internal SAS lanes via two Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) connectors, enabling connection to server backplanes for multi-drive RAID arrays. The controller delivers advanced RAID functionality including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60, with optional 1GB non-volatile (flash-backed) cache for improved write performance and data protection.
