The HP / HPE 507690-001 is an internal SAS/SATA hard drive backplane board used in HP ProLiant rack servers, primarily the DL380 G6 and DL380 G7 models. It is installed inside the server’s front drive cage and serves as the central interface between the hot-swap drive bays and the system’s RAID controller. The backplane distributes both data signals and power to the installed hard drives, enabling reliable enterprise storage operation and hot-swappable drive functionality. This component supports 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF) drives and allows multiple drives (commonly up to 8 or 16 depending on chassis configuration) to be connected through a compact internal design.
