It provides hardware RAID functionality to manage multiple SAS or SATA hard drives, improving data protection, performance, and storage reliability in enterprise server environments. The controller supports 8-channel SAS connectivity through internal Mini-SAS ports and includes 256 MB battery-backed write cache (BBWC) to accelerate disk operations and protect cached data in case of power loss.
