The Supermicro AOC-S2208L-H8iR is a low-profile enterprise hardware RAID controller that uses the LSI SAS 2208 dual-core RAID processor and connects via PCI Express 3.0 x8. It provides 8 internal 6 Gb/s SAS/SATA ports through two Mini-SAS (SFF-8087) connectors, includes 1 GB DDR3 cache memory, and supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 for high-performance and fault-tolerant storage arrays. The controller supports up to 240 drives when used with SAS expanders and is designed for server, virtualization, database, and enterprise storage environments.
