The Intel E98791-007 (DPS-750XB A) is a 750W hot-swap redundant server power supply unit (PSU) designed for Intel server and workstation platforms. It is part of Intel’s modular redundant PSU family and is commonly used in enterprise rack systems where high availability and N+1 redundancy are required. It delivers up to 750 watts of DC output power with 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency, ensuring high energy efficiency and reduced heat output in dense server environments. The PSU is designed for blind-mate hot-plug operation, allowing it to be inserted or removed from a powered system without shutdown when used in redundant configurations. Internally, it uses a high-speed single-fan cooling system and supports universal AC input (100–240V) with active power factor correction (PFC). Communication and monitoring are enabled through system-side management interfaces (PMBus/SMBus depending on chassis implementation) for telemetry and health reporting. The module connects to the server via a proprietary Intel gold-finger edge connector, interfacing directly with the chassis power distribution backplane rather than using external DC cables.
